Йен Стюарт
Иан Стюарт (Ian Nicholas Stewart) родился в 1945 г., получил образование в Кембридже (бакалаврская степень по математике) и Уорвике (докторская степень). В настоящее время - профессор математики в Уорвикском Университете ( University of Warwick, England).
Сделал значительный вклад в развитие теории катастроф. Директор Центра Понимания Математики в Уорвике (MAC@W). Занимал видные посты в Германии (1974), Новой Зеландии (1976) и США (Университет Штата Коннектикут 1977-78, Университет Хьюстона 1983-84). Он также профессор в Университете Хьюстона и Товариществе Бактериальных факторов роста в Группе Бактериальных факторов роста, Санта-Фе. В 1995-м Стюарт получил престижную медаль Фарадея, в 2001-м - избран членом Королевского Общества Лондона по содействию естественным наукам (The Royal Society of London for the Improvement of Natural Knowledge, основано в 1660-м году, является старейшим в мире обществом подобного типа, несмотря на добровольность членства, исполняет также в Соединённом Королевстве функции, близкие к функциям национальной академии наук).
