Современное общество гораздо сложнее средневекового, зато во многих смыслах у нас куда больше возможностей, чтобы жить так, как хочется, и быть с тем, от чьего присутствия быстрее всего бьется сердце.
Сексуальную жизнь и репродуктивную деятельность средневековой женщины общество, по сути, держало в заложниках, но и тогда находились те, кто не мирился с таким положением дел или пользовался малейшими доступными лазейками. Дать обет целомудрия в браке и наслаждаться всем прекрасным, что есть в жизни, — самый яркий из известных мне примеров.
Словом, средневековые женщины делали все что могли. Вправе ли мы требовать от них большего?
